Abstract
This study addressed the subject of Internet browsing addiction and its relationship to psychological depression among a sample of students from the Abu Issa College of Education at Zawia University.
It aimed to identify the level of Internet browsing addiction and the level of psychological depression, reveal the relationship between Internet browsing addiction and psychological depression, and identify statistical differences in the study variables according to the type of preferred application (Facebook, Instagram, or Tik Tok) among a sample of students from the Abu Issa College of Education.
The researcher used the descriptive analytical method to suit the nature of this study, and her sample consisted of (265) female students, chosen by a stratified random method from the total population of (1712). The researcher relied on the Internet browsing addiction scale, prepared by: “Bishri Ismail Arnbut” ( 2007) and the Beck Depression Scale, Arabic: Gharib Abdel Fattah Gharib (1996), as they are tools for study.
The study reached the following results:
1. The level of Internet browsing addiction is low among students of the Abu Issa College of Education at Zawia University.
2. The level of psychological depression is low among students of the Abu Issa College of Education at Zawia University.
3. There is a direct (positive) statistically significant correlation at a level less than significant (0.05) between Internet browsing addiction and depression among students at the Abu Issa College of Education, which indicates that the higher the level of Internet browsing addiction, the greater the level of psychological depression
