Modernity is one of the manifestations of sound and accelerating life, and
the fluctuation of the Arab mind’s awareness of Western modernity made it
enter into the touchstone of constructive Arab criticism, through which the
study aimed to highlight the general concept of modernity and the extent of
its compatibility with the Arab cognitive foundations, and to clarify the
relationship between Western and Arab modernity, and the role of Taha
Abdul Rahman in this philosophical context. And the integrated scientific,
and the extent to which Arab modernity was influenced by Western,
considering that this work Lajad is the first attempt to criticize Western
modernity through the contributions of Taha Abdel Rahman according to a
philosophical vision based on the goals that this modernity seeks to
achieve, and the contrasting shortcomings that marred the Islamic
modernity that he presented, making it the path that can be repaired from
the moral ills that befell Western modernity. The study also used the
descriptive, analytical and critical approach at times and reached a set of
results, the most important of which are:
