Abstract This study aimed to determine the availability of content selection and organization criteria for biolgy curriculum content at the secondary school level in Libya. The researcher used a descriptive method that involved content analysis. The study population and sample consisted of biology textbooks prescribed for students in Libya's first, second, and third years of secondary education for the academic year 2023-2024. A total of nine textbooks were analyzed, as there are three books for each grade level (a student textbook, an exercise workbook, and a practical activity book). The research instrument was a criteria list (analysis form), divided into two parts: the first part for content selection criteria, and the second part for content organization criteria. A variety of statistical methods were employed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), including Pearson's correlation coefficient for calculating the concurrent validity of the research instrument, holsti's formula for calculating the instrument's reliability, and the calculation of frequencies and percentages The study arrived at the following findings: The textbooks that adhered most to content selection and organization criteria were those for Grade 11. The indicators for content selection and organization criteria were available at a high level at a rate of 57%, followed by Grade 12 textbooks with a rate of 51.8%, and finally Grade 11 textbooks with a rate of 50%. However, all of these percentages are low and do not meet the required level.
