Discussion/Conclusion: Nurses’ knowledge about HIV/AIDS appears to have an effect on their attitudes towards HIV/AIDS patients. However, other factors may also affect these attitudes, such as religious and cultural backgrounds. The behaviours and practices of nurses are associated with attitudes. There is a need to introduce educational programmes in order to improve nurses’ HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, behaviours and practices.
