dc.descriptionIn recent years, much emphasis has been placed on the role of tourist development in boosting rural communities. The rural-urban divide and the sustainability of rural livelihoods are becoming increasingly important as our globe gets more urbanized. Rural tourism development has emerged as a possible approach for fostering long-term change and revival of rural areas (Li H et al., 2020). International organizations such as the (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development [OECD],2023; The Food and Agricultural Organization [FAO], 2023; The World Bank, 2022; The International Fund for Agricultural Development [IFAD], 2021; and the European Commission, Commission, 2023) all emphasize the importance of rural development.
dc.description.abstractRural tourism in Libya has gained attention since the late 1990s due to its potential to benefit local communities, contributing to economic development, job creation, and improved living standards. This study delves into the prospect of tourism development in reinforcing rural communities in Libya by examining residents' attitudes toward tourism, sustainable practices, and community enhancement. The research's primary goal is to investigate the potential for sustainable tourism development in rural Libya, emphasizing an understanding of residents' attitudes about Support for Sustainable Tourism Development, including Perceptions toward tourism, Availability of Tourist Resources, Social and Cultural Impact, Impact of Infrastructure, and Economic Impact.
