dc.descriptionThe color changes and physico-chemical characterization(elemental analysis , FT-IR, UV-Vis , conductivity) support formulation of the resultant conducting polymers and co-polymers. The wt.% contents of organic materials found to be dependent on the nature of the monomers and the comonomers., as well as on the type of the inorganic composite. Electrical conductivity of extracted polyaniline, poly indole, poly imidazole, poly carbazole and their polyaniline copolymers composites, found to be in the range of semiconductors. Beneficial properties of the resultant nanocomposites can be considered as novel conducting materials, ion exchangers, solid acid catalyst and as sensors.
dc.description.abstractAbstract In this project α-germanium phosphate- α-vanadyl phosphate, glassy tin phosphate- α-vanadyl phosphate and α-titanium phosphate-α-vanadyl phosphate composites, [α-Ge(HPO4)2]0.34[VOPO4]0.66, [g-Sn(HPO4)2] 0.34[VOPO4]0.66., and [αTi(HPO4)2] 0.34[VOPO4]0.66 , respectively , were prepared by solid-solid mixing in 1:3 wt. / wt. mixing ratios from their parent materials, of α-VOPO4 .2.5H2O, and α-Ge(HPO4)2.1,18 H2O, g-Sn(HPO4)2 .2.78 H2O and α-Ti(HPO4)2 .H2O ,respectively. Their conducting polymers and copolymers composites were prepared via in-situ chemical oxidation of the monomers aniline, indole imidazole and carbazole and their co-monomers, aniline-co-indole, aniline-co-imidazole and aniline-co-carbazole, respectively, that was promoted by the reduction of V(V) ions present in the inorganic matrix.
