There has been an increased demand in recent years for ELTs all over the world and the need to train teachers became evident. Teacher educators were given the opportunity to develop a wide range of innovative courses and techniques for training teachers.
The vision that guided much of the TTCs was Smith's guidelines called:- Teacher for Real World.(1984:71). He called for complete reform in TE, and the training courses he proposed would emphasize first, the knowledge of theory that teachers need to interpret common training situations
