The CA is acknowledged by many teachers as a tool which enables students to cope with everyday situations and to communicate with other people from various countries (Beeching, 1988). Students must be trained to apply their knowledge of the target language structures and vocabulary to accomplish some functions, such as greeting, thanking, expressing regret, or eliciting and giving information. In this approach the teachers' role is trying to establish appropriate situations that promote communication, answering students' questions, and monitoring their performance.Teaching English as a foreign language needs appropriate methods and techniques that are suitable for students' level to improve their English language with great success. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the teachers' methods and techniques in teaching English language in preparatory schools in Sayad area.
