In hot ionized plasma of such material, nuclear level may be excited or triggered by X-ray line. Triggering by continuous spectrum radiation might be characterized by the integrated cross-section (ICS), that defines the absolute abundance of the process and finally the efficiency of such scheme. The isomer triggering is presumed to be a two-step process, when an intermediate state “m” is excited after photon absorption by the isomer “i”, and then the state “m” decays spontaneously to the ground state “g” with emission of isomeric energy plus the absorped photon energy in a form of gamma photons or (and) conversion electronsA laser –produced plasma is a convenient source of multiply charged ions. Such plasma allows one to produce ions of a high charge and to ensure conditions for the excitation of low-lying nuclear levels. If we use a laser-produced plasma consisting of nuclei with low-lying metastable levels (isomeric nuclei) with lifetimes greater than 10-8 -10-9 s, then we expect that , after rapid heating and cooling of such a plasma, isomeric nuclei will radiate a weak emission, specifically at frequencies of electron-nuclear transitions[Excitation of Nuclei in a Laser produced PlasmaExctation of nuclei in a laser produced plasma.theoretical and evaluation study
