This research provides a scientific contribution to scholars in the field of textual criticism, particularly in manuscripts of Maliki jurisprudence, as well as to researchers studying the chapters of the Jurisprudence of Worship (Fiqh al-Ibadat) contained in the first part, which has been authenticated and made accessible for review. By authenticating the first part of this thesis, the door is opened for further discussion and research into the jurisprudence of Imam At-Tawudi, who held the leadership of the Maliki school during that period, through a rigorous academic discussion of his jurisprudential views.ABSTRACT This study aims to verify a portion of a manuscript in Maliki jurisprudence titled "Ṭālaʿ al-Amānī li-Muṭālaʿat al-Zurqānī" by its author, Imam Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Saʿūda al-Tāūdī (d. 1209H). This book is a hashiyah on Imam ‘Abd alBāqī al-Zurqānī’s (d. 1099H) commentary on “Mukhtasar Khalil” (d. 779H). The leaders of the Madhhab have considered this hashiyah as one of the reliable references for corrections and additions on ‘Abd al-Bāqī al-Zurqānī’s commentary. In the context of this study, the Imam debated the criticisms brought against al Zurqānī’s commentary by those who came after him with scientific, rigorous discussion. Although he is the authority in the reliable narration on the authority of Al-Zarqaani on Mukhtasar Khalil, it has not investigated and these narrations have not been studied before, and this is what this problem will be addressed by verifying the text and studying the jurisprudential matters issues in it. The objective of this study is to verify the first part of the book and to present it as the author intended, while mentioning the environment in which Imam al-Tāūdī lived and its influence on refining his knowledge. The study will elucidate his methodology in addressing the issues and the sources he relied upon, known as the Text Library, while noting the issues brought forth by the Imam against al-Zurqānī. The importance of this study is to help specialists in the Maliki school of thought in knowing the issues in which Imam Al-Zarqani disagreed with the approved Maliki school of thought. It also reveals the approach followed by Imam Al-Taudi in commenting and correcting these issues. It is also distinguished by being the first of its kind in studying Imam Al-Taudi’s comments on explaining Al-Zarqan. The methodology utilized to achieve the goals of this dissertation is the editorial method, along with the historical and analytical methods. This study has affirmed several outcomes, amongst the most significant are: verifying the attribution of this work to its author, the scholarly standing of this Hashiyah within the Maliki school, and the impact of the environment in which Imam al-Tāūdī resided_marked by political turmoil and the imposition of specific religious directions by the authorities despite the presence of several Imams who taught Imam al-Tāūdī, contributing to the refinement of hisduring that period, through a rigorous academic discussion of his jurisprudential
