This work investigates spray flashing evaporation phenomena and resulting shock waves experimentally and numerically, considering superheated liquid water as working fluid. 2D transient Ansys Fluent simulation was utilized to present and prove the occurrence of shock waves generated by a flashing water jets when superheated water is injected through a nozzle into a low￾pressure water vapor zone.
