الوصف
Investment casting (IC), also known as lost wax casting, has evolved from a specialized technique in the mid-20th century into a globally significant manufacturing method, particularly for applications requiring high dimensional accuracy and complex geometries (Lehmhus, 2022). Among various casting methods, such as sand casting, die casting, and centrifugal casting, investment casting stands out for its ability to produce components with exceptional dimensional precision, intricate details, near-net shapes, and minimal post-processing (Dejene et al., 2023). A classic example is the production of turbine blades in aerospace engines, where complex cooling channels and aerodynamic profiles demand the precision and repeatability that IC provides (Dong et al., 2024).
