الوصف
The present research investigates the complete nonlinear dynamic behavior of this class of angular rate sensors in the micron and macro scales, and focusses only on the use of a ring or cylindrical structure as the vibrating element. The operation of these devices relies on the highly resonant second flexural mode (often called the ‘wine glass mode) of the ring structure. In the present research, it is also shown that this highly sensitive mode could be exploited in the design of novel monostable and bi-stable vibratory energy harvesting systems.
