To mitigate heavy metal pollution downstream of the Brantas River, it is recommended to focus on the utilization of identified hyperaccumulator plants for phytoremediation. Furthermore, ongoing monitoring of heavy metal levels in both water and soil is essential, along with the implementation of stricter pollution control measures to prevent the accumulation of toxic substances in the river ecosystem. Restoring riparian vegetation can enhance the river's natural capacity to filter pollutants and protect biodiversity. These conclusions emphasize the importance of riparian biodiversity in controlling heavy metal pollution and the potential of certain species for phytoremediation efforts downstream of the Brantas River.
