utilization of Coal Fly Ash (CFA) in road
construction, starting with an overview of coal-fired thermal power plants and their
by-product, CFA. A detailed analysis of CFA's physical properties and chemical
composition is presented to provide a foundational understanding. It then discusses the
various uses of CFA and assesses its performance when incorporated into Hot Mix
Asphalt (HMA) and as a stabilizing component in the base course. Additionally, the
review examines the coating of road layers, including the application of prime coats,
and evaluates the performance of modified coatings through penetration, pull-off,
direct shear tests, and curing time of prime coats.
