The Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS) analyses of bio-aviation fuel showed that the hydrodeoxygenation process successfully produced the bio-aviation fuel with the carbon number nC8-nC17 by removing carboxyl acids group, carbon-carbon double bonds from the hydrocarbon chain. The results showed that the bio-aviation fuel can be synthesized from non-edible oils like candlenut oil to mitigate the rising demand for jet fuel, minimize greenhouse gas and minimize environmental pollution.
