الوصف
Microwave is effected by the amount of rain rate, which causes the signal to be attenuated. It is called rain attenuation. Calculation of this attenuation is by prediction models that are based on cumulative measurements of rainfall. Distance, polarization, and regression coefficients related to the frequency values are all factors causing attenuation. ITU, Silva Mello, Lin, and Moupfouma are all models rested globally for these assessments. However, the results of the prediction models differ in the accuracy from region to region according to the climate. On these bases evaluation of performance of these previously mentioned models by comparison with measurements taken from four links from Libya, two from Benghazi, and two from Tripoli in a rainy season periodically. Fitting process was performed between predicted attenuation and measured attenuation using two statistical methods, namely: Maximum Likelihood Estimation method and Ordinary Least Squares method.
