الوصف
Enhanced oil recovery is a technique is used for oil recovery by injection of fluids not usually existing in the reservoir; EOR is a common term for methods for increasing the quantity of crude oil that can be take out from an oil reservoirs. Using EOR, 30-60% or more from initial oil reservoir oil can be extracted, compared with 20-40% using primary and secondary recovery. Carbon dioxide (CO2) & Hydrocarbon Solvent (rich gases) is one of the methods Enhanced oil recovery and used in depleted or partially depleted oil reservoirs is a reasonable option to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, Carbon dioxide has been used as the injection fluid in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of the EOR application in D-1 Reef Reservoir with Hydrocarbon Solvent (rich gas) and CO2 injections and to improve the cost-effectiveness by maximizing the oil production (to increase the revenue) and minimizing the CO2 injection & Hydrocarbon Solvent (rich gas) (to decrease the costs). Several standard lab works (slim tube & core displacement) were conducted to investigate the feasibility of EOR applications with reference to optimum EOR parameters such as MMP. Injection of gases into a reservoir for enhanced oil recovery results in complex fluid phase behavior that cannot be modeled by black oil simulators. This interaction of flow and phase behavior is best captured by fully compositional simulators which Eclipse software is used during all stages of field development plans.
