الوصف
Research on university digitalization has a long tradition. For decades, one of the most popular ideas in this literature area was to computerize the traditional handworks of the nowadays educational institution. In the past several decades, the Student Information System (SIS) has played an important role in improving the typical schools' information management system. Today, a significant change has been realized in the educational institution working style. Consequently, the demanding for more complex. processes of the SIS system has increased. Unfortunately, most of the studies of SIS are however focused on the routine mechanism that has been adopted several years ago. The negative side of this traditional SIS is that is not built in a workflow-enabled mechanism, therefore encouraging manual involvement as well as increasing administration and maintenance complexity. One of the major topics to be investigated in this field is to unify business and technique people layers so that they can both contribute to the SIS reengineering stages in a flexible and constant interoperability manner. This study tries to constitute a relatively new area which has emerged from the legacy SIS, by maintaining Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) as a core tool toward reducing the workload, enforcing rules, improving efficiency, productivity and maintenance flexibility. On top of that, enabling business owners to contribute to the SIS reengineering processes. The theory that we will present through this study uses a PDLC methodology, as well as it will use a major theoretical and conceptual framework for the reengineering stages. The finding of this study seeks to meet success in many problems that face the legacy SIS.
