dc.description.abstractABSTRACT In this thesis, we apply different forms of the well-known tanh function￾expansion method with the aid of computer algebraic system (CAS) such as Maple or Mathematica to construct many types of exact wave solutions of some nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) in mathematical physics. Based on reductive perturbation technique and a series of transformation, the nonlinear PDEs had been derived by many authors which can be reduced to a nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE) using the wave transformation.
