الوصف
This study integrates the gravity and magnetic data with remotely sensed images and geological data in an effort to understand the surface and subsurface major geological structures in Hun Graben. Integrated analysis of Landsat and QuickBird images was applied for extraction of geological lineaments. and the results were correlated with known geological structures. The remote sensing techniques used are the QuickBird image was the best available option for both panchromatic and multispectral imagery, and the Landsat technique, both used to identify the main surface geological structures features, as the Waddan Uplift located at the northeast, Al Jabal Al sawda located in the southwest. A new phenomenon parallel to the fault zone in the middle of the study area has been discovered. It is a fault zone resulting from tectonic activity of the basement high interpreted from magnetic and gravity data that reveled the activity within basement.
