The treated animal groups, showed significantly lower values of atherogenic indices than baseline and control. Cardiac risk ratio (CRR) was statistically higher in the HS group than the other groups, where in the order GT<GT+HS<HS. A similar trend was observed with results of atherogenic coefficient and atherogenic index of plasma. A remarkable reduction in the activities of AST, ALT, CK and LDH indicated that the extracts of GT, HS and GT+HS may have the potential of reducing the factors that produce myocardial infarction. XIV
