| dc.description | This study is an economic evaluation of the fishing agreement between Morocco and the European Union. The problem of the study is derived from the following questions: 1- are there direct economic benefits of the fishing agreement concluded between Morocco and the European Union and what is its importance to the fishing sector in Morocco? 2- To what extent does the Moroccan fishing sector benefit from the agreement? Based on the historical approach in reviewing the history of the economic relations between Morocco and the European Union adopting the descriptive, analytical and comparative method, the study reached a set of findings. The most important of which is that the current European Moroccan economic relations are non-equal and selective. The European interest is essentially in the primary materials sectors such as the fishing sector. This, in fact, does not provide any actual and direct addition to the marine fishing sector in Morocco, neither does the financial return compensate for the environmental loss incurred on the fishing areas. Moreover, the agreement has political implications related to the issue of the Western Sahara, which would only add to the existing tension between Morocco, the Polisario and Algeria. | |
