The study concludes that understanding the various artifacts in CT imaging is essential for accurate diagnosis and appropriate patient management. Radiologic technologists and radiologists should be aware of the potential causes of artifacts and take appropriate measures to minimize their effects, such as optimizing imaging parameters and patient positioning, and using advanced image reconstruction techniques.
T Computed Tomography (CT) is a widely used diagnostic imaging modality that provides detailed cross-sectional images of the human body. However, CT images are susceptible to various artifacts that can affect image quality and accuracy. This study aims to identify the most common artifacts seen in CT imaging and their effects on the resulting images. A total of 500 CT scans from various body parts at National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Sabratha were analyzed for the presence of artifacts. The most common artifacts identified were motion artifact, beam-hardening artifact
