| dc.description | Condensate is a low-density mixture of hydrocarbon liquids that are present as gaseous components in the raw natural gas produced from many natural gas and oil fields. It condenses out of the raw gas if the temperature is reduced to below the hydrocarbon dew point temperature of the raw gas [1].Condensate is also referred to as gas condensate, or sometimes natural gasoline because it contains hydrocarbons within the gasoline boiling range. Condensate is of superior quality for the production of fuels than the oil itself. Indeed, the condensate is a slightly colored liquid having general characteristics similar to those of an oil fraction. It is practically free of hydrogen sulfide and has a characteristic bitter odor. Condensate may come from any one of three types of gas wells Crude oil wells, condensate that comes from crude oil wells is called associated gas. This gas can exist separate from the crude oil in the underground formation, or dissolved in the crude oil. Condensate produced from oil wells is often referred to as lease condensate. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Gas condensate or natural gasoline is a valuable liquid hydrocarbon mixture which could be utilized as fuel or converted to different petroleum products like gasoline, light oil, jet fuel etc. In Libya, the total production of gas condensate is up to 70,000 BBLD. These enormous quantities of condensates produced do not find now any industrial application. This proves however, that the condensate is of superior quality for the production of fuels than the oil itself. The purpose of this work is to present the suggestions for utilization of Libyan condensate instead of export especially for production of useful light products such as Naphtha and Kerosene. Naphtha is a key product for gasoline production. | |
