Dental restorations represent one of the most frequently performed procedures by general dentists. Ensuring their long-term durability and clinical stability is essential for treatment success.(1) Composite resins are now the most commonly used restorative materials for direct restorations of both anterior and posterior teeth. They are classified based on various characteristics, such as the type, size, and distribution of filler particles, as well as their physical and mechanical properties.(2) With the development of nanotechnology, nanocomposites are designed to provide maximum esthetics and superior mechanical and physical properties with reduced particle size and increased filler amount.(
Enhancing dentin bond strength to resin composites remains challenging due to inevitable hydrolytic and enzymatic degradation. Natural agents capable of reinforcing dentin collagen and resisting degradation may improve the longevity of resin–dentin bonds. Therefore, this study evaluated the microtensile bond strength (μTBS), mode of failure, and the color stability of two nanohybrid composites bonded to demineralized caries-affected dentin after pretreatment with different concentrations of hesperidin (HPN).
