Pylori infection and dyspepsia were confirmed by many studies as well as, this infection is the most common cause of chronic gastritis, moreover, it has been strongly linked to peptic ulcer diseases and gastric cancer. In that respect, several invasive and noninvasive methods for the diagnosis of H. Pylori infection was utilized. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between dyspepsia, and the positivity of H. pylori stool antigen test, and to compare this test with serological IgG test, in addition, to study some proposed related risk factors. Methodology: In three months, one hundred twenty- five different adult patients were selected randomly from those, who was attending gastroenterology units of the Mediterranean and Tajurah specialized clinics in Tripoli. Adult patients complaining of dyspepsia were included in this study, according to certain inclusion and Exclusion criteria. Stool samples were taken for the detection of H. pylori antigen by Enzyme immunoassay test (EIA). In addition, blood samples for detection of anti-H. pylori IgG antibodies were withdrawn. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS. | |
