Treating exuding open skin wounds present significant challenges, primarily due to the risk of bacterial infections, particularly those caused by antibiotic-resistant strains, which can impede the healing process. Traditional wound dressings are insufficient for creating an optimal healing environment, as traditional dressings fail to effectively regulate the complex wound microenvironment, which is characterised by challenges such as excessive exudate, and bacterial contamination.
