dc.descriptionCladding is a process of depositing a relatively thick layer of filler material on a carbon or low alloy steel base metal. It enhances production economies by enabling the use of a cheaper, more machinable parent material coated with expensive metals and alloys for achieving desired properties in specific areas of products. It finds that use in chemical and fertilizer plants, nuclear power plants, pressure vessels, agricultural machines and even aircraft and missile components.
dc.description.abstractThe effect of gas metal arc welding (GMAW) variables on Cladding of Stainless Steel316L on Mild Steel was studied .series of experiments were carried out to know the effect of current , and voltage, Was designed by Response Surface Methodology on reinforcement ,Penetration depth, dilution ,hardness in interfacial zone and hardness of weld cladding . The findings indicate that the high of reinforcement, depth of penetration and percentage of dilution of weld metal increase with increasing the welding current from 80-128A
