dc.descriptionIn this study we investigated the correspondence between the Poisson and Schrodinger equations, In order to accomplish that we started with brief review of electrostatics including delta function and its applications, then we used a simple transformation . This enables us to use electrostatic methods to find the ground state energy and Eigen function of certain quantum systems. One of these systems we dealt with is a one dimension ionic crystal of finite length. The result obtained indicates that forces acted by regularly spaced positive and negative ions described by attractive and repulsive Dirac delta function allow for a bound state, this means , it is possible to trap a single electron in ionic crystals. The wave function Ψ(z) was plotted for different values of N , where N is the number of ions . We used this wave function to calculate the expectation value of the potential energy, and the average kinetic energy.
