dc.description	This thesis discusses one of the most important and critical topics of this time. This topic is image processing and how to use it as a search engine to find the best match from huge number of stored images. Many researchers have worked on this topic; however the success was on limited areas such as face detection and fingerprints. This thesis focuses on introducing an Edge Detection method that are used in image matching with high percentage among different types of images such as medical, scientific, historic and private.The technique proposed in this thesis is using image detection tools that use edge detection technique. An edge detection(technique) relies on finding the most bright points in images which are the most important and critical features. These points were used in the comparison to find the similar images by using fewer points, i.e. the size of comparison elements is reduced.
