dc.descriptionThe model has a strong explanatory power (r² = 0.720) and good fit. Additional results depict high composite reliability (0.877 to 0.923) and good AVE. (Average Variance Extracted >0.5) The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin value is 0.888, that indicates sample adequacy. Bartlett’s test is significant (p < 0.001). Goodness-of-fit indices are acceptable. Factor analysis confirms seven components that explain 66.15% of the variance. Most respondents have at least a bachelor’s degree, and high levels of security knowledge.
dc.description.abstractIndividuals are often the frailest link in Information Security (IS), especially in Libya and other developing countries. Internal threats from employees can lead to sensitive data leaks. Many studies focus on policy compliance, but few explain why employees follow it. Furthermore, literature has recognised and provided compelling arguments that ISC (Information Security Culture) and PMT (Protection Motivation Theory) factors are essential determinants for IT employees' intentions to comply with the IS policy. However, an integrative stance for ISC and PMT as determinants of an employee's intention to comply with the IS policy is limited. Therefore, this study pursues to formulate a model highlighting the influential factors of employee intentions to comply with the IS policy. This study purposes to develop a model that explains employees' compliance behaviour with the IS policy by examining how culture and PMT factors influence compliance intention. This research employs two phases.
