This research discusses the extraction of some statistical indicators from real oil data. Statistical analysis of oil or petroleum data helps greatly in providing reliable information to the decision makers in relevant institutions when making decisions or building future plans that related to oil industry. In this study, oil data were that recoded by a company for the period 2007-2010. The data under study are recorded readings of a number of oil compounds forming crude oil and are therefore expected to be related to each other. The data under consideration have not been previously studied using any statistical instruments. For this reason, data were firstly statistically explored using some well known tools of graphing methods and descriptive. The considered data are related to the production of crude oil from one of the oil fields in southern Libya, where this production is pumped through specially designed pipelines to reach a platform for export across the sea to global consumption markets. This process of production is accompanied by some associated compounds of crude oil which affect the quality or conformity of the product to certain in advance specific specifications so that it can be classified globally. Associated compounds are chemical compounds including Naphtha, Sulfur, Propane and Butane. And might include natural gas. The amount or proportion of these compounds in crude oil has a positive or negative effect on the cost of producing crude oil. These compounds may also be treated to be diluted or treated by disposal by burning or sometimes subject to treatment process to be useful for some purposes. The current study investigates the relationship between crude oil and these compounds. In this study, a number of statistical methods have been used to identify these relationships, including the use of some multivariate analysis tools. Also, the application and discussion of multiple linear regression and correlation ز tools to studied data has been presented. In this aspect, we look at the amount of produced crude oil as a dependent variable while the other compounds are treated as independent variables. The study was divided into four chapters, where the first chapter was devoted to the general introduction, especially regarding the purpose of the study and its importance, as well as a description of the data under study. In the second chapter, the theoretical side of the statistical methods used was discussed. In the third chapter, the practical aspect of the methods that described in chapter 2 was discussed for the available data. In Chapter 4, the findings and recommendations are based on the results of the statistical analysis of the data under study. Statistical analysis was performed using the two statistical software: Minitab, R and SPSS
