dc.description | The main objective of this thesis is to improve the performance of the micro-strip Yagi antenna arrays of a millimeter-wave at 60 GHz, which were fed by the microstrip-to-slotline transition and work as a transition between two sides of the antenna. The tapered micro-strip line has been used to minimize the reflection at the interface between the feed line and the microstrip line. The proposed antennas used a corrugated ground plane as a reflector to enhance the gain and bandwidth. A reduced-size 60-GHz antenna is designed for operation across (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical ) band, and 60GHz is considered to be a key technology in the fifth-generation (5G) indoor wireless applications. The single antenna four-element micro-strip Yagi antenna yielded an impedance bandwidth of 53.2 to 64.3GHz for return loss less than -10 dB and a gain of 12.138 dB, and the Seven-element micro-strip Yagi antenna yielded an impedance bandwidth of 51.4 to 66.8GHz for return loss less than -10 dB and a gain of 13.346 dB while the arrays exhibited a bandwidth of 57.5 to 66GHz and a gain greater than 15. | |
