dc.descriptionMultiphase ows, such as rainy or snowy winds, tornadoes, typhoons, air and water pollution, volcanic activities, etc., are not only part of our natural environment but also are working processes in a variety of conventional and nuclear power plants, combustion engines, propulsion systems, ows inside the human body, oil and gas production, and transport, chemical industry, biological industry, process technology in the metallurgical industry or in food production, etc. The list is by far not exhaustive.
dc.description.abstractThe transport of multi-phase ow in pipelines can be met in a wide range of industrial applications, including the oil and gas industry, where it has already shown great savings in developments, such as gathering productions of di erent wells in a processing station, and avoiding local construction of plants for separating the phases. In addition, as the exploration of new elds expands to harsh environments, such as ocean or polar, the multi-phase ow transport sometimes becomes the only feasible option.
