dc.descriptionCancer is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the world. The environment may contain harmful chemicals that can increase the risk of cancer. Even if you do not smoke you may be exposed to secondhand smoke if you go somewhere, where people smoke or if you live with someone who dose.Chemicals, in the home or workplace, such as asbestos and benzene, are also linked to an increased risk of cancer. Environmental agents include: physical carcinogens - ultraviolet and ionizing radiation chemical carcinogens-components of tobacco smoke, aflatoxin, asbestos, arsenic biological carcinogens - viruses, bacteria or parasites (Siegel et al., 2018).
dc.description.abstractCancers are a group of diseases associated with abnormal growth of cells. Without any check, the disease may keep on progressing ultimately leading to premature death. They can arise anywhere in the body and can affect people from all age groups, socio-economic strata and race. Therefore, cancer is a serious problem affecting the health of all human societies. Unfortunately, it is a variety of disease at the tissue level and this variety is a major challenge for its specific diagnosis, followed by efficacy of treatment (Siegel et al., 2018).
