Biometrics is a technical term which is originally derived from the Greek words bio
‘life’ and metrics ‘to measure’. The term ‘biometrics’ refers to metrics related to
physiological and/or behavioural characteristics of a human being such as the iris,
retina, face, voice, fingerprints, knuckle-prints, palmprints, hand geometry, gait,
and keystrokes.
