| dc.description | Textile industrial processes are one of the sources of water pollution due to the utilization of various dye constituents. Approximately 10% of the 70,000,000 tons/year of dyes produced worldwide are wasted during dyeing and end up in the environment (Benkhaya et al., 2020; Yuan et al., 2020). Synthetic dyes have received high attention due to their high production, processing speed, and serious environmental toxicity. The release of textile effluent containing dispersed dyes into aquatic bodies can harm the ecosystem by obstructing sunlight, which is necessary for marine plants and animals to photosynthesis. By increasing the metabolic and chemical oxygen demand, disrupting the oxygen transfer mechanism between air and water might have negative consequences by impeding the water's natural purification process. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The synthesis of ZnO NPs used in photocatalytic degradation of wastewater using chemical and physical methods has many limitations as a result of its low photocatalytic activity due to its instability and its toxicity to the environment. The study aims to optimize the Solar Photocatalytic Degradation (SPD) of the treatment of disperse orange 37 (DO37) in synthetic and raw textile wastewater using ZnO-ED NPs synthesized from Eleocharis dulcis (E. dulcis) extract by a precipitation method. The characterization of ZnO-ED NPs was determined using UV-Vis, FESEM-EDX, AFM, XRD, FTIR, and Raman analysis. | |
