dc.description | where the test's results showed a significant difference (p value <0.05) between the two groups of newly diagnosed diabetics and older diabetes patients. Patients with newly diagnosed diabetes do not significantly differ from the control group (p value >0.05). Patients with Covid-19-related new diabetes differed from those with pre-existing diabetes in terms of fasting sugar and hba1c levels as well as insulin hormone levels. where they were higher in patients with pre-existing diabetes than in those with newly diagnosed diabetes; however, the difference observed in this study is that insulin hormone levels are normal in both groups and do not differ between the groups with newly diagnosed diabetes and the control group. Therefore, the complications associated with diabetes are less severe, and using glucose control and a healthy diet helps to keep blood sugar levels stable.
dc.description.abstract | Diabetes is defined as high blood sugar caused by a deficiency in the secretion of the hormone insulin or a defect in the function of the hormone, which is responsible for lowering blood sugar. However, studies have revealed a new type of diabetes caused by complications of the Covid 19 virus, and the viral infection leads to pancreatic cell infection and thus a defect in the function of the hormone insulin, including high blood sugar. The purpose of this study is to compare insulin hormone levels in previous diabetics and new diabetes patients after Covid-19 complications. The current study was carried out to compare insulin levels in old diabetics and new diabetics in Libya across different cities. 150 people between the ages of 30 and 65 were sampled. 30-65-year-olds were collected between December 2022 and June 2023. Three groups of samples were formed. 50 diabetics have had the disease for more than five years. 50 diabetics as a result of Covid-19 complications 50 normal people without diabetes Both were evaluated. Fasting blood sugar in serum, HbA1C in whole blood sample, insulin hormone in serum for all samples, and medical history were all recorded. The current study found that the average fasting sugar in old diabetics was (205mg/dl), while it was (168mg/dl) in new diabetic patients compared to the control group (115mg/dl) (p-value 0.05) where there are significant differences between all groups. The HbA1c results for the new diabetes patients were 10.13%, compared to 5.7% for the control group (p value<0.05). This suggests that there are significant differences for all groups. The results for the old diabetes group were 9.16%). Insulin hormone results showed that the new diabetics had 21.56μU / mL compared to 26.7μU / ml in the control group, and 39.25μU / mL in the old diabetics.
