| dc.description | PLS version 3.3.3. Statistical results showed that the parameters obtained were within acceptable limits and in good agreement with previous studies. Results showed that a moderate level of risk management practices, encompassing risk identification, assessment, and response and monitoring was practiced but needed further improvement. The findings indicated that effective risks management positively and significantly impacted financial risks and the overall performance of construction projects in Libya. It was further shown that the financial risk has been identified as a significant partial mediator in the relationship between risk management practices and the projects performance in Libyan construction industry. The study undertaken was found to be consistent with previous investigators in similar area. The study was considered an important step towards the implementation of quality assurance in the construction industry notably in Libya | |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT The effect of risk management on the performance of projects has been the subject of study for many years, especially for countries where the construction industry is the main contributor of the country Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This is rightly so in the developing countries where countless projects have been or are being carried out to provide the infrastructures. A study was carried out to investigate the factors affecting the relationship between risks management and projects performance in Libya. The role of financial risks in this relationship was integrated to provide a broader perspective of the problem. The risks management was divided into three levels i.e. identification, assessment and response and monitoring. Ten hypotheses (direct and indirect) were formulated to design questionnaires which consisted of questions under different categories. An attempt was made to use the approach of Grounded in Resource-Based View (RBV) and Expected Utility Theory (EUT), offered both theoretical insights and practical implications in the construction industry in Libya and similar developing countries. The survey questionnaires was distributed online to construction companies registered under the Libya authority so that the data obtained were reliable and satisfied all statistical tests. As the study was done during the Covid-19 pandemic (2020 – 2022) face to face interview with respondents was not possible to access the data. The data was collected from two major cities i.e. Tripoli | |
