dc.descriptionSimulation of array antennas parameters were carried out such as return loss, bandwidth and gain. All the results are documented in different tables for the comparison purpose between all the designs. All the simulation were performed using High Frequency Structure Simulator software (HFSS). From the comparison process it can be pointed that gallium arsenide has good bandwidth with and without DGS than other arrays while RT/Duroid has good directivity as compared to other two arrays.
dc.description.abstractIn this work a design and comparative analysis has been done on Microstrip Patch antenna arrays for 60 GHz applications. Three different substrate materials are chosen for arrays with same thickness of 0.4mm. The three substrates used are FR4 epoxy with relative permittivity of 4.4, Rogers RT / Duroid 5880 with relative permittivity of 2.2, and Gallium Arsenide with relative permittivity of 12.9. As the relative permittivity of the substrate increases the dimensions of the patch decreases and hence affect the characteristic parameters of the antenna.
