Oxidative stress is a state of elevated levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), resulting from a variety of conditions that stimulate either additional ROS production or a decline in antioxidant defenses, (41) and it is defined as a state in which oxidation exceeds the antioxidant systems in the body secondary to the loss of balance between them.(42) Oxidative stress is involved in several lifestylerelated diseases including atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, ischemic heart diseases, and malignancies
